Hamptons International provides a snapshot of top property reductions in the Country


London - UK, June 2008 - Hamptons International, one of the UK’s premier residential agents has recently revealed that realistic pricing will help stop house prices falling further, by encouraging movement within the current property sector.

The residential agent has confirmed that activity is still taking place at the 10-15% price drop level, and as a result of these drops there are some fantastic investment opportunities for buyers.

This is especially the case across London – within the prime residential markets. London has witnessed price drops of approximately 15% over the last six months. However, it is also continuing to enjoy a steady stream of interest from buyers, with viewing levels up 12%, when compared to the same time last year.

In fact, the recent price drops have provided investors with excellent opportunities. This is especially the case within some of the most sought after areas in London including Kensington, the City and Clapham. Hamptons International figures reveal the some of the top reductions include: a six bedroom property in Orlando Road, Clapham (20% drop from £2.85m to £2.3), a two bedroom apartment in Kensington (20% drop from £1.1m to £895k) and a two bedroom converted warehouse apartment in the City (15% drop from £1.25m to £1.075m).

London is a unique market with a restricted supply which means prices which have been reduced to reflect current market conditions are helping to generate buyer interest once more.”
